how our bodies melted into each other

and became a work of art

those were the only moments when you said forever

and mean it

for a second we became timeless

but then the sun would stubbornly rise

so I could see clearly

that we would be a masterpiece

never to be admired

never to be contemplated

never to be known

locked away in a dark, forgotten room

curtains drawn

somehow I knew that the only kind of forever we would have would be

forever apart

at least we were legend that night
